Occupational safety and health

Occupational safety and health is a collection of technical, medical, legal, psychological, pedagogical and other activities which are used to identify and eliminate risks, i.e., risky events such as hazards, damage and exertion, which could endanger the life and health of persons in the workplace.

Occupational safety and health, as a set of interdisciplinary activities governing the measures, procedures, principles and rules of occupational safety and health, in order to eliminate or reduce risks at work with basic (designed, technical) measures, i.e., bring them to an acceptable level, and, after the application of occupational safety and health measures and the established level of risk, reduce the remaining risk to an acceptable level by applying special (organizational) occupational safety and health measures.

The purpose of occupational safey and health is to create safe working conditions, in order to prevent interruptions in the implementation of technological/production/service and other work processes with possible consequences for the health and life of workers, such as injuries at work, occupational diseases and other diseases related to work.
